Kitchen & Laundry Renovation: Coldstream

The Brief

Some renovations soften a space; this one reinvented it entirely. Our Coldstream clients needed extensive building works carried out to achieve their vision, with the old laundry at the back of the home, the kitchen nook in the middle and the living room walls at the front all coming out to make way for one large, open-plan living and entertaining space. A new laundry and storage room was built to replace what had been lost, ensuring nothing was sacrificed in the pursuit of open space.

The Design

The result is an almost unrecognisable transformation. The majority of the joinery is finished in Polytec Polar White, a calm, neutral base that lets the new open-plan layout breathe, while the feature island stands out in Laminex Bayleaf, grounding the space with a warm, earthy tone that anchors the room without overwhelming it. Kethy PS330 handles in Bronze add a warm, tactile detail against the white cabinetry, and Stone Ambassador Carrara Mist benchtops bring a soft, marble-look finish that ties the kitchen and laundry together.

The new laundry, rebuilt from scratch as part of the works, makes the most of a compact footprint with stacked appliances and integrated storage, finished in the same Polar White and Bronze palette as the kitchen so the whole renovated zone feels like one considered project rather than a series of separate rooms.

The Result

A home that barely resembles its former self, and in the best possible way. What was once a closed-off, dated layout is now a bright, connected space built for everyday living and entertaining alike. A genuinely transformative renovation for our Coldstream clients.
