Kitchen, Laundry & Vanity Renovation: Rosanna

The Brief

Our clients had spent over 12 months working with an architect on a renovation and extension for their Rosanna home, only to find the final design sat well beyond their budget; a disheartening outcome after so much planning. We sat down with them to identify the elements that mattered most to their family home, then set about redesigning the spaces to meet every item on their list within a realistic budget.

The Design

Taking the project on as owner builders, our clients worked closely with the team through every space in the home, including a new kitchen, butler's pantry, laundry and three custom vanity cabinets, along with an additional bedroom and bathroom carved from the existing footprint.

The kitchen combines Polytec Classic White with European Walnut and Laminex Battalion, a considered mix of warm timber tones and crisp white that gives the space real depth without overcomplicating it. Caesarstone Osprey benchtops and a penny round tiled splashback add texture and softness, while Kethy L4328 black timber knobs bring a distinctive, tactile detail that ties the whole kitchen together. A small but genuinely practical butler's pantry sits just off the main kitchen, handling the everyday overflow without taking up unnecessary space.

That same considered palette, Polytec Classic White, European Walnut and the black timber knob hardware, carries through to all three vanity cabinets, giving the home a cohesive feel from the kitchen through to every bathroom. The laundry is where the fun happens, with a hit of Laminex Juicy introducing a bold, playful green against otherwise white cabinetry; a genuinely joyful departure from the rest of the home's restrained palette, and proof that a laundry doesn't have to be an afterthought.

The Result

A home our clients are genuinely proud of, delivered within a realistic budget after a disheartening false start. Having taken the project on themselves as owner builders, they now have all the space their family needs, from a new kitchen and pantry to an additional bedroom and bathroom, without compromising on design or detail.
