The Project
When I met with John from Cantala Carpentry and his clients to discuss their Lilydale Master WIR renovation I had no idea what I was about to walk into. Their VERY generous master bedroom & parents retreat (almost 30m2) with a very standard sized bedroom WIR (under 4m2). The brief was not to just renovate the existing space but also build a new WIR within the bedroom area working around the existing windows & bay window. With a few design options discussed the final lay-out included John framing out a section of the room which also included some alteration works to the existing doorway and altering the existing WIR for a more functional galley style design which created a seating and jacket hanging nook to their entrance. The final fit-out boasting almost 7 l/m of hanging space, 17 drawers, ample open shelving and some feature Polytec Prime Oak Woodmatt shelving to break up the white and fitted with the Castella ‘Urbane’ Matt White Handles.
