Kitchen Renovation: Boronia
Project – Kitchen Renovation
Suburb – Boronia
Designer – Chris Wing Shing
Builder – Axis Kitchens
The Brief
When this Boronia family was referred to Axis Kitchens by a previous client, they came to us with a clear vision: a fresh, modern kitchen that would work beautifully alongside a broader renovation of their home. With new windows, updated flooring, and some minor structural changes already underway, the kitchen needed to feel cohesive with the new direction of the space — light, considered, and built to last.
The Design
With the home opening up through the renovation works, we had a wonderful opportunity to design a kitchen that felt bright and contemporary without losing warmth. We specified Tesrol 593-EP3S doors finished in a combination of Dulux Western Myall and Vivid White satin polyurethane — a pairing that balances a soft natural tone against crisp white, giving the kitchen depth without feeling heavy.
Stefano Orlati 4062 handles in Matt Black add a confident contemporary edge, while a single feature shelf in Polytec Australian Native Woodmatt brings in a touch of natural texture that ties the palette together beautifully.
For the benchtops and splashback surrounds at the sink, we used Stone Ambassador 'Zenith' Raiden — a refined stone surface that's as practical as it is striking. Behind the cooktop, the clients selected a feature tile that we ran ceiling-height and wrapped around the feature shelf, creating a real focal point in the kitchen and a natural frame for the cooking zone.
The Result
The finished kitchen sits perfectly within the newly renovated home — a space that feels both considered and liveable. The combination of materials brings together warmth, contrast, and a clean contemporary finish that the clients love coming home to.
