Kitchen / Living Room Cabinet Renovation Project

I’m lucky enough to work with some amazing builders and this was the case with our South Melbourne kitchen renovation which was completed with the team at Trademark Renovations.

Limited in space being an apartment and needing to keep to a similar footprint as our clients wanted to retain the existing carpet floors around the kitchen (yet to be cut & stretched back in) and also working to the existing plumbing services we  set about making the most out of the available space.

Not being our client’s primary residence meant we had the luxury of working with a smaller integrated fridge space and a Hafele Dispensa pull out pantry.  To maximise the work space around the cooktop we chose to offset the oven & induction hotplate to the right giving a single larger workspace to the left side and adding a Hafele Comfort II pull out to the right of the oven to free up some of the smaller pantry unit.  With the use of the integrated fridge, dishwasher and installing a single Undermount sink the space feels clean and spacious yet with ample storage also having rear facing island cabinets and integrating their living room entertainment unit with the kitchen but dividing with a waterfall stone end to clearly define the 2 spaces.

Again needing to keep to the existing carpet line when entering the kitchen and living room we wanted the space to feel softer so we introduced a feature woodgrain open shelf in Polytec Tasmanian Oak Woodmatt with integrated LED strip lighting rather than the darker primary colour Polytec Adriatic Smooth all with Caesarstone Organic White benchtops.  We then chose to use Castella Clements Brushed Brass handles to match our client’s tapware and finished the kitchen with a Grey Tinted Mirror splashbacks.
