The Brief

We call what we do kitchen renovations — but occasionally a project comes along that the word simply doesn't do justice. This Ringwood North project is one of those. Revelation. Transformation. Both words fit, and both fit completely. Working with the team at Cantala Carpentry, what was delivered here goes well beyond a cabinetry refresh — it's a home fundamentally changed for the better.

The Design

The kitchen makes no apologies for its ambition. Dulux Black Caviar 30% satin polyurethane doors on the lower cabinetry establish a bold, dramatic foundation — deep, rich, and unapologetically confident. Against this, Blackbutt timber veneer in 10% satin clear introduces natural warmth and grain, the two materials creating a contrast that is striking without being jarring. It's a pairing that takes conviction to commit to and delivers completely.

40mm Caesarstone Frosty Carrina benchtops provide a cool, luminous counterpoint to the warmth of the Blackbutt veneer — a marble-look surface with real presence that anchors the kitchen beautifully. Grey tinted toughened mirror splashbacks complete the picture, adding depth and a subtle reflective quality that makes the space feel larger and more considered at every angle.

The pantry steps back from the drama of the kitchen with white melamine doors — a deliberate breathing space that lets the kitchen be the star. Blackbutt solid timber benchtops, crafted and installed by Cantala Carpentry, bring the natural timber thread through from the kitchen in a more raw, tactile form, and tiled splashbacks add texture and practicality to the working space.

The laundry continues the same thoughtful approach: Polytec Polar White Matt melamine doors keep the space clean and bright, while Blackbutt solid timber benchtops by Cantala Carpentry maintain the material consistency established across the renovation. Tiled splashbacks complete a laundry that is functional, considered, and far removed from an afterthought.

Revelation. Transformation. This Ringwood North renovation earns both descriptions and then some. From the bold drama of the kitchen to the warm practicality of the pantry and laundry, every space has been reimagined with care, skill, and a genuine eye for what makes a home feel special.
