The Project

After working with our Malvern East clients for their kitchen & walk in pantry renovation in 2016 they reached out again to Daniel of Optimum Renovations ( and myself when it was time to renovate their master bedroom, robe & ensuite.  The decision was made to convert what was their main bedroom at the front of the house back into a lounge / living room and combine the existing two smaller walk in robes & ensuite area into a single larger and more functional walk in robe and ensuite space to suit their needs which in this case included removing a bath from the ensuite.

Rather than just renovating the extremely large ensuite space and removing the wall between the existing robes the decision was made to re-locate and create a small step in the dividing room walls to create a small shower niche enabling a larger sized total shower space along with the toilet beside it.  The existing large (& low) window which previously had the vanity cabinet below and toilet to the right was to remain but we rotated the vanity cabinet and moved it to the other end featuring wall to wall mirrored shaving cabinets.  We’ve also removed the direct access to the ensuite from the new Master Bedroom and access is now through the large walk in robe which I think creates a cleaner bedroom space with one less door and separates the ensuite facilities a little more from the bedroom.

The robe with almost 4.8 l/m of hanging space, shallow shoe & accessory storage at the back and a full drawer plus shelf set at the entrance has ample room but also having 3.3m ceilings the cabinets are kept open above for even more bulk storage above.
