The Project

Having the opportunity to work with our clients at the early stage of their home extension & renovation we’d gone through a few different design options to find the perfect match for them and their lifestyle.

An important element to the renovation for our clients was the use of stainless steel to their preparation & cleaning areas, complete with an integrated Buildmat bowl.  To soften this detail the joinery was finished with Laminex Paperbark throughout the kitchen and the use of solid Wormy Chestnut timber to both the island bench & feature shelving.

The home’s been designed to capture all available natural light through the large rear sliding doors and beautiful north facing highlight windows above the island bench but to help of a night time we’ve installed Hafele Loox 5 LED strip lighting under both runs of the overhead cabinets which have been installed at the front edge to help illuminate the working areas.

The Euro Laundry & linen cabinet are located in the main hallway between the existing home and the extension.  This space is a gateway between the old and new and not wanting to take away from the architectural features of this area with its full double height ceiling, sunken indoor garden space and stunning floor tiling we kept the joinery subtle using Polytec Classic White Matt with just a hint of detail using the Kethy ‘Tofu’ Walnut timber handles which will complement the indoor garden once completed.

Bed 2 & 3 wardrobe have been built with Satin White MDF doors and panels as the client wanted to paint these in situ and potentially let their children have some fun with some colours if they choose which is a great choice as they can then be re-painted should they change their mind or tastes change in the future.  The Master Robes, although being in a large open space isn’t filled with a great deal of natural light throughout the day so it was decided to use the Laminex Paperbark again for this joinery and finished with the Kethy ‘Tofu’ handle but this time in the Oak.
