The Project
I’ve had the privilege of working with John Brewster of Cantala Carpentry for many years and was thrilled when he approached Axis Kitchens to work with his Ferntree Gully’s client’s laundry renovation. Our client had already done a lot of the hard work in both the design concept and colour selections for their renovation and it was a matter of tweaking a few small details and finalising a couple of selections to ensure the perfect result for their home. This included their preference for a built in ironing board and built in laundry hamper.
Going against the trend of pre-built pull out laundry hampers we’d decided to go with a custom made melamine box drawer design with an internal division for separating their clothes as they didn’t feel they need the removable baskets offered by other units. Also wanting a small ironing board for the occasional use we’d decided to install the Hafele built in Ironfix ironing board and ensured that the tall storage cabinet at the end would fit their floor standing LG handheld vacuum cleaner. With the luxury of generous linen storage elsewhere in the home and the preference of having their clothes dryer in the garage this left a great open bench space for the sorting of clothes along with additional general storage.
